Welcome to Mrs. Landry’s Information Computer Technology (ICT) Class!

This year we have many lessons and projects that will help students advance their computer knowledge and skills as defined by New Hampshire state ICT standards and national standards set by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).  All grades will learn the same technology concepts and skills including:

  • Basic technology operations and concepts including hardware, software, applications, and the Internet.
  • Keyboard and word processing skills with a focus on written communication, research, and critical thinking.
  • Creativity and innovation skills with a focus on visual and verbal communication.
  • Analytical skills with a focus on critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making.
  • What is means to be a good digital citizen

 

What we are learning in the month of February:

Unit 2: Microsoft Word and Research

Grades 5 through 8 are working on an MLA formatted research paper on the topic of “Bullying”.   Students are learning how to format and organize a research paper in the MLA academic format including proper citation format.  For more information on this project please see the Tech webpage computer class research project.

Grades 2 through 4 are learning advanced Microsoft Word formatting techniques and made electronic snowmen using objects and shapes.  First grade students are learning basic Microsoft Word formatting and typing skills.  Kindergarten students are doing a great job with their typing!  Many students have completed Level 1 and have received their certificate.  Check out the link for this site under the “Cool Tech Websites” tab!
