FundingFactory® Recycling Program

For several years, STA has participated in the FundingFactory® Recycling Program. The program runs year-round, accumulating constant income for our efforts. We recycle empty ink cartridges and cell phones to earn new technology equipment. Through this program, the school has acquired digital cameras, software, and many other items.

Last year alone, more than 300 million cartridges were thrown away, while 30,000,000 cell phones were tossed or replaced. We’re alleviating the volume of waste that goes into landfills, while collecting products we need to keep our school running smoothly. The help of our STA families is vital to our fundraising success. Cell phones and cartridges can be dropped off at school or sent into school with the students.  Thanks to Mrs. Villanueva, they are then boxed and shipped out.

FundingFactory® also sponsors a business support program, where businesses can help out our school without spending a cent. Prepaid shipping boxes can be sent, free of charge, directly to any business, organization or other facility within the continental United States. Business supporters simply need to load the boxes and leave them for the next UPS pickup.

Go green for your school! Recycle used printer cartridges and cell phones to earn contributions through FundingFactory®.

 Shaw’s Gift Certificate Program

Everyone buys groceries — please buy them through our school!  We sell Shaw’s Gift Cards that work like cash.  You can purchase them on a weekly basis like many of our parents do, or on a monthly basis, in this way, you always have them on hand when you find yourself shopping.

Shaw’s Gift Cards also make great gifts for companies to give their employees at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.  Shaw’s Gift Cards are welcome at food pantries year round and are very much appreciated.

Shaw’s Cards are available in $25 and $50 denominations to fit your grocery shopping needs.  An order form is sent home every week with the Thursday Notice.  Fill it out for the amount of cash cards you want, write a check payable to STA School  for the amount of your purchase and send the order form and check back to school (with your child) on the following Monday.  Your child will bring your Shaw’s Cards home on that Tuesday!

Its that simple!  Our current participants find the program very convenient and the program benefits both YOU and our school.  How??  Our profit is 5% of every gift card purchased. You receive half (2½%) of our profit back in the form of a tuition voucher.  You can use your voucher towards monthly tuition payments through FACTS, before/aftercare charges, the fundraiser buyout, or any other fees incurred throughout the school year (with the exception of the lunch program).  Simply send in the voucher to Lynn Kish with a note stating how you wish to use it.

On average, our participants are saving between $15 and $25 each month off their tuition bills.  As you can see, this program helps the shopper and the school!  Join us and give it a try, that’s all we ask.  Cherie Pellegrini is our gift card coordinator, feel free to talk to Cherie or contact the school office for additional information.
